Pitman Training chooses hosted QPC Séntrel Learning Management System for its new Management Professional learning programme
LONDON, UK (10TH NOVEMBER 2008): QPC today announced that Pitman Training has chosen its QPC Séntrel Learning Management System as a hosted service to deliver their new Management Professional learning programme.
Pitman Training has long been associated with secretarial and office based training available through its national network of training centres. Expanding its portfolio of training courses, Pitman Training is developing ‘Management Professional’ - a new range of management courses which will be offered online to allow maximum flexibility and easy access for students at any hour of the day or week.
Using Séntrel, Pitman Training will be able to publish learning content they have created for the courses so that students and tutors can gain access to it through a browser via the web. Learning sessions can be saved and revisited at a later date to make it convenient for students to learn at their own speed. Pitman Training will also be able to administer students and tutors to determine what they can gain access to and the system will provide assessments - both students and tutors can get learning progress feedback.
“We chose Séntrel because of the flexibility it gives us and the student. It is also very easy for them to navigate through the course and for tutors to follow their progress,” says Claire Lister, Managing Director for Pitman Training. “We were also impressed with the speed and ease with which we can get our courses up and running. Séntrel has an excellent track record with over 4,000 students already having access to courses through this system. Once students have successfully completed our learning programme they become eligible for entry to a degree at one of the two UK universities with whom we have a special relationship. For example, at one of these universities our course will be counted as the equivalent of two years of their three year degree.”
Talking about the relationship with Pitman Training, Phil Smith, Founder of QPC comments “We are delighted to be working with Pitman Training and helping them to pass on the benefits that online training delivery can bring for both students and tutors. Pitman Training has a reputation for high quality, flexible learning and this project will build on their reputation.”
