Piyush Sabharwall Honored in New Faces of Engineering Program
NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2011– Piyush Sabharwall of Idaho National Laboratory represents the next generation of engineers whose leadership skills and commitment to excellence are helping to improve the world, while inspiring young people to explore careers in engineering.
Sabharwall, 29, is one of 14 New Faces of Engineering, a program that highlights the contributions of America’s newest engineers and showcases technological innovation and achievement in disciplines ranging from energy and infrastructure development to biomedicine and national security. The program coincides with National Engineers Week, which began on Feb. 20.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) nominated Sabharwall, who develops high-temperature nuclear technologies for Idaho National Laboratory based in Idaho Falls. He is a member of ASME and the American Nuclear Society. He attended Wilkes University, Oregon State University and the University of Idaho. He earned a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Idaho.
