Second Generation Energy LLC announces the installation of its most recent Commercial Solar Electric System. The 16 kW photovoltaic system at Titus Engraving utilizes eighty roof-mounted panels to harness the power of the sun to make clean, affordable electricity.

Plainville, MA - December 14, 2009 - Titus Engraving goes green with new solar electric system.
Second Generation Energy LLC is proud to announce the installation of its most recent commercial solar electric system. The 16 kW photovoltaic system at Titus Engraving located in Plainville, MA, utilizes eighty roof-mounted panels to harness the power of the sun to make clean, affordable electricity.
With guidance from the staff of Second Generation Energy, Titus Realty LLC, was able to secure the highest levels of rebates available from Commonwealth Solar I, the first phase of Governor Patrick’s initiative to install a minimum of 250 MW of solar in Massachusetts by 2017. Rebates and tax credits significantly reduced the investment needed to fund this green initiative and considerably diminish payback periods.
Dana Titus, Owner of Titus Engraving was motivated to invest in the system by the promise of offsetting rising electricity costs and decreasing dependence on fossil fuels. The system is expected to produce approximately one third of the company’s electricity and conserve three hundred sixteen tons of Co2 that would be generated without the use of the new Solar PV System. Installation of the solar electric system marks thirty years in business and has brought a new sense of pride to each of the twenty-three people working for the company.
