The Plaza Group, a leading international petrochemical marketing company, has expanded its business operations with the addition of a Manger of Support Services in its Houston, Texas headquarters.

The Plaza Group, a leading international petrochemical marketing company, has expanded its business operations with the addition of John Orlando as Manger of Support Services.

In this new position, Orlando is responsible for supervising customer service and logistics. Randy Velarde, The Plaza Group President, said Orlando was a necessary addition to ensure the company continues to stay true to its core values as the business grows. “The addition of Orlando has enabled The Plaza Group to centralize customer service and logistics and ensure more day-to-day management of these important supply chain functions,” said Velarde. “Orlando was the right fit for the new Manager of Support Services because he has an exceptional track record of leadership and developing company protocols in his past positions, which will be extremely important as The Plaza Group continues to expand.”

Orlando has more than 12 years of experience in the chemicals industry. He comes to The Plaza Group from Refinery Technology Inc. where he served as the project manager and supervised developments for various oil, chemical and petrochemical refineries across the country. Prior to that, Orlando was the regional customer service manager for Univar USA where he managed inbound orders for 13 branches.

Orlando holds a bachelors in business administration from the University of Houston. He currently resides in Cypress, Texas and has three children. A passionate runner, Orlando has completed full and half marathons.
