Olympus Imaging Corporation (President: Haruo Ogawa) is proud to announce the OLYMPUS STYLUS SZ-15. This camera packs a 24x, high-powered optical zoom lens, and 16 megapixel^*1 CCD into a stylish body, making it perfect for carrying on vacation and everyday life. It is scheduled to go on sale from February 8, 2013.

Main Features

1. Equipped with a 25mm^*2 wide-angle to 24x optical zoom (48x at Super Resolution) lens. Blurring during zoom photography is doubly reduced with DUAL IS^*3.
2. Simple, beautiful photos are possible due to the 16 megapixel CCD sensor, iAUTO, Magic Filter^*4, and Beauty Mode^*5.

The STYLUS S series packs a large zoom range into a compact body, equal to that of large and heavy telephoto lenses on SLR cameras, for shooting everything from everyday scenery to concerts, sporting events, and other scenes. The S series is perfect for keeping luggage light while traveling, and the zoom is excellent for shooting graduation ceremonies, as well as school and professional sporting events.

The OLYMPUS STYLUS SZ-15 is equipped with a 16 megapixel CCD sensor. With iAUTO, users only need to point the camera at the desired subject and the camera automatically adjusts the optimum settings. Even those who are unfamiliar with cameras will be able to easily capture beautiful photos with only the push of a shutter button. With the 24x(48x at Super Resolution) optical zoom lens from wide-angle 25mm to telephoto 600mm*2, users can capture everything from wide-open scenes, to far off subjects difficult to see with the naked eye, such as people, animals, and vegetation, making it the perfect all-around camera. With CCD-shift type image stabilization and DUAL IS for high-sensitivity shooting, camera shake is effectively compensated for during telephoto shooting.

The STYLUS SZ-15 is also equipped with the popular Magic Filter and Beauty Mode. With a single touch, users can capture a photo or movie that is a bit different than the average image, and make subjects look more beautiful for a lasting impression.

DUAL IS Image Stabilization

DUAL IS is image stabilization that counteracts the direction of camera shake by moving the CCD sensor via a shift-type image stabilization mechanism, and uses digital SLR algorithms. By using this function in combination with high-sensitivity shooting, camera shake and subject blur is effectively reduced, providing double image stabilization.

Magic Filter

The popular Magic Filter offers 11 different filters to choose from: Dramatic, Fragmented, Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish Eye, Soft Focus, Punk, Watercolor, Sparkle, Miniature, and Reflection. Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish Eye, Soft Focus, Punk, Watercolor, Miniature and Reflection can also be used when shooting movies.

Beauty Mode

Beauty Make-up allows users to apply the desired makeup effect to up to three people at the same time during shooting or playback, and to register 3 favorite patterns of makeup for ease of use.

This function offers a full range of different makeup effects that will make women happy. In a menu screen designed to be similar to a cosmetic palette, effects such as blush, eye shadow, false eyelashes, and eye color and sizes can be changed and applied easily, along with effects to make faces appear smaller, and lifting effects to make subjects more beautiful.

Eye-Fi Support^*6

Eye-Fi cards are SDHC memory cards that contain an internal wireless LAN. Images can be wirelessly uploaded to picture services, online photo albums, and computers.

SNS Upload Function

This function satisfies the demand of users who want to upload still images to social networking sites, such as Facebook and Flickr.

By adding images to an upload list on the camera that users want to share, they can easily be uploaded to the desired social networking service.

To upload images, users simply add recorded images to a list on the camera, and then upload them to a computer. Images added to a list can be searched with a single touch and then easily uploaded. (It is necessary to preinstall the included software (OLYMPUS Viewer 3) on a computer.)
