Leading think tank Policy Exchange is delighted to announce the appointment of Annaliese Briggs as its new Research Fellow within the Education Unit.

Annaliese has experience both on the front line as a trained teacher (with a specialism in early years) and Founding Principal of Pimlico Primary, and in the education policy field having established the curriculum project at think tank Civitas.
Policy Exchange’s Education Unit has played a prominent role in shaping the policy agenda. A number of Policy Exchange education proposals have become government policy, most notably the Pupil Premium and the introduction of Free Schools.  Most recently, the Education Unit has published work on performance-related pay for teachers and the need to improve the quality of inspections and inspectors within Ofsted.  Last week Sir Michael Wilshaw announced that he would be adopting our recommendation of a two stage inspection system.

Previous Policy Exchange alumni include James O'Shaughnessy, former Director of Policy to Prime Minister David Cameron, Sam Freedman, Former Senior Adviser to Michael Gove and Natalie Evans, Director of New Schools Network.
