Writer Darla Worden has announced new 2011 dates for her small-group summer writers’ workshop, Left Bank Writers Retreat, to be held in Paris in July
Jackson, Wyoming – September 28, 2010 – The Left Bank Writers Retreat, a small-group summer writing workshop, is slated for July 2-8, 2011 in Paris, France. Hosted by Jackson Hole-based writer Darla Worden, the Paris writers’ workshop will focus on writing in a salon setting during mornings and touring Paris in the afternoons.
“The retreat is designed for writers of all levels looking to use Paris as inspiration.” Worden says. “Writers will explore Paris’s deep literary roots while also experiencing its sights, restaurants and museums. Past workshop participants have particularly enjoyed the immersion style of the retreat as well as the small-group support and instant sense of community.”
Worden has written more than 100 magazine articles about art, architecture and travel over the past 20 years. Author of the book club-selected novel Road Shoes and co-author of The Rusty Parrot Cookbook (Gibbs Smith, 2009), she also writes the popular blog 60,000 Mile Ticket to Paris.
The cost of the seven-day Left Bank Writers Retreat is $2,299 and includes morning writing sessions, coaching and one-on-one time with the instructor for a maximum of 12 writers, as well as lunch each day, admission to museums and area sights, an excursion to Montmartre, tastings and a literary tour. An optional Versailles tour is offered on July 9 for $150 and an optional Flea Market tour is offered for $80 Sunday, July 10.

The French writers’ retreat takes place on the historic Ile Saint Louis in the heart of Paris. Writers arrange their own lodging and transportation to Paris, and can reserve a spot in the retreat with a $500 deposit. Special rates on lodging are available.
