SEATTLE—Friday, the Washington Fair Trade Coalition, the Washington Blue Green Alliance, Sierra Club, 350.org, Spokane Move to Amend, Occupy Bellingham, Backbone Campaign, Community Alliance for Global Justice, and Expose the TPP, will host a press conference in solidarity with the International Day of Action surrounding the highly secretive global trade agreement, Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). http://www.tradejustice.ca/tpp/jan31/

Since its inception, the architects of the TPP have done everything in their power to keep the American public in the dark, and now a few members of Congress have taken the secrecy measures to dangerous new heights by introducing “fast-track” legislation that would strip our democratically elected lawmakers of their ability to debate or amend the TPP legislation.

We call upon the Washington Congressional Delegation to join us in opposition to the fast tracking of this unpopular trade agreement that would threaten every aspect of our daily lives from the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the quality of our jobs.
