Sussex Sharks begin in the new Royal London One-Day Cup tournament tomorrow, when they take on Nottinghamshire Outlaws at the Horsham Cricket & Sports Club (10.30am start).
The Sharks go into the new-look 50-over tournament having gained some fantastic momentum following a world-record T20 chase at Chelmsford on Friday evening, in which Sussex scored 226 for 3 to beat Essex. Luke Wright smashed 153 not out from only 66 balls, the highest individual score in domestic T20.
Sussex were also victorious at Horsham during the week, emphatically beating Warwickshire by 226 runs in the LV=County Championship to kick off the Horsham Festival of Cricket.
The One-Day Cup has replaced the 40-over competition that Sussex finished strongly in last season, having beaten the Outlaws both home and away.
Chris Jordan will be missing the opener as he is in the England squad for the 3rd Test against India, whilst Jimmy Anyon, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Matt Prior and Michael Yardy remain on the injured list.
The match is sponsored by Crimson Hotels and we thank them for all their support.
The Sussex squad is as follows:
BC Brown (wkt)
EC Joyce (capt)
