Skipper Ed Joyce looks set to return for Sussex as Northamptonshire are the visitors to Hove

Sussex return to LV=County Championship action tomorrow when they take on Northamptonshire at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Hove (11.00am start).

The hosts are 60 points ahead of Northants in the Division One table although the visitors do have a game in hand. Victory for Sussex though would vastly improve their position in the table depending on other results, as they lie only 25 points shy of third place.

Sussex can welcome back skipper Ed Joyce after missing the last three NatWest T20 Blast matches with a hamstring problem. Jimmy Anyon, Rory Hamilton-Brown and Matt Machan will all have their fitness assessed prior to the match but Jon Lewis has been ruled out. Michael Yardy remains missing with a bicep injury whilst Chris Jordan and Matt Prior are unavailable due to England’s Test match with India.

It is Northamptonshire’s first visit to Hove in the Championship since September 2010 when Sussex won by an innings and 19 runs.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

JE Anyon

BC Brown (wkt)

RJ Hamilton-Brown

LJ Hatchett

EC Joyce (capt)

MW Machan

SJ Magoffin

CD Nash

SA Piolet

JC Tredwell

LWP Wells

LJ Wright

SAA Zaidi
