The upcoming Toronto Private School Expo on Oct 15 2011 at Roy Thomson Hall will connect families with leading private school representatives and showcase important seminars that will cover key topics that are particularly relevant to students and families in Ontario. The annual event is roundly praised by attending parents as an essential tool for learning about private schools in the Greater Toronto Area as well as international boarding schools.

The costs of private school tuition are surprising parents for the better. Many private and independent schools have tuition starting under $4,000 per year for elementary levels. Independent private schools in provinces such as British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec that receive some government funding may offer yearly tuition rates below $1,000.

Despite that fact, school tuition is still the major factor in parents' decision whether or not to send their children to private school, and which school to choose. Yet, parents are finding that within the cost of tuition, many private schools are offering childcare, before-school and after-school programs, tutoring, outdoor education and extracurricular activities such as sports, music and dance which many families are already paying and can be spent instead to cover private school tuition!

With various different scholarships, bursaries, and financing options, parents are finding that private school education is less “exclusive” than previously thought.
One of the major tools used by parents as they research their educational options is the annual Private School Expo that tours nation wide with stops in Montreal, Toronto, Oakville and Vancouver, where hundreds of private schools converge to meet parents in single day events.

The Toronto Private School Expo on Oct 15  2011 at Roy Thomson Hall will not only connect families with leading school representatives, but it will also showcase important seminars that will cover key topics that are particularly relevant to students and families in Ontario. Topics such as:

-   How to choose a school
-   What makes a school unique?
-   What’s the admission process?
-   How do we apply?
-   Student life – International trips and community service projects

As economic times continue to improve, Our Kids Media is confident that the benefits of a private school education, such as small class sizes, enriched academics, and close parent-teacher partnerships, will make the upcoming 2011 series of Expos an even greater success.

Media interviews with parents, schools, students and speakers can be arranged before or during the event with Our Kids Media.
