"We have seen a growing demand for the really upscale PL10000configurations," said Jon Lindén, VP of global marketing at ProceraNetworks. "Being able to offer several times the capacity of ourcompetitors has proven to be a stronger competitive advantage than Ipredicted, as more customers are demanding 10 gigabit or higher capacity inthe locations where they deploy DPI today."

The increasing performance under challenging conditions was also recentlyproven at DreamHack, the world's largest computer festival. More than10,000 heavy users, generating 22 Gbps of traffic, were managed by twoPL10005 chassis offering 10 Gbps full duplex capacity. The PacketLogicperformance was confirmed by processor utilization remaining far below thecritical threshold even under these demanding conditions.

"In addition to performance, the DreamHack event was also a validation ofPacketLogic's asymmetric traffic support. With 50 percent of all trafficbeing asymmetric, we were still able to stay south of 1 percent overheadtraffic during peak usage times," continued Lindén. "In live installationswe've learned the critical requirements for these high-end systems and havebeen able to modify the PL10000 configuration accordingly since theoriginal launch of this hardware platform in May this year. We're preparedto go higher and I foresee even bigger systems being deployed in the nearfuture."
