UPM Raflatac is looking for a

Production Supervisor

to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities and effectiveness of production crew(s); assuring appropriate staffing levels, coverage and other practical matters.

The position is based in Dixon, IL.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Create and assure a safety-conscious work environment
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of new associates
  • Daily and monthly reporting
  • Employee relations, including management of related administrative duties such as payroll, vacation, attendance, performance evaluations, personal target setting and work schedules
  • Work closely with maintenance staff leadership to schedule required maintenance, including planned and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to processes, performance, etc., and analyze as appropriate to determine and capitalize on best practices
  • Responsible for all housekeeping initiatives related to the Finishing department
  • Crew production performance analysis and evaluation for the providing process, quality, and waste improvement
  • Implement and control the working procedures within the department in cooperation with department manager and process engineers
  • Ensure adequate levels of basic production supplies
  • Other tasks specified in the quality systems
  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a BS in engineering or related field, 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a paper converting/finishing environment and knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance required
  • Must serve as an effective team leader and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate well with a diverse constituency
  • Must have well-developed problem solving skills and demonstrated inventiveness and initiative
  • Previous computer experience, including MS Office products and automated production management systems, required
