-- PSE&G has restored service to virtually every customer affected by last weekend’s storm. At this time, only five customers in Bergen County remain without power, and crews are working at those locations. PSE&G thanks all customers for their patience, as they dealt with the worst storm in the company’s history.

-- The restoration process had been especially challenging as a result of the substantial damage to trees, utility wiring and poles. Depending on the damage, it has taken crews many hours at each work location to replace broken poles, restring electric lines and repair or replace other equipment needed to get the lights on. Workers are finding that they need to reconstruct the distribution system which takes additional time and effort.

-- In addition to utility workers from AEP, Duquesne Light and UGI, received assistance from First Energy, Atlantic City Electric and contractors who can help restore individual service lines.

-- PSE&G’s gas employees still have work to do in flooded communities of Passaic County. About 1,700 customers are without service due to flooding. Gas customers will be restored in coordination with municipal inspections as the flood waters recede. Full gas service restoration is not expected until mid next week.
