WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A steering committee of Purdue University faculty, staff and students, along with the consulting team of Rundell Ernstberger Associates, LLC, and Toole Design Group, Inc., are collaborating to develop a strategy for the future of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure on the West Lafayette campus.

Two public meetings are being held in the coming days in the West Faculty Lounge on the second floor of the Purdue Memorial Union. The first meeting, from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 5), will consist of a short presentation and information on how the campus community and stakeholders can provide feedback and suggestions for route and program improvements. The second meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 6) and will be an open house style meeting in which interested parties can discuss bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure with members of the Purdue planning staff and consulting team representatives.

Building upon the work of the Bicycle Task Force to enhance the safety and convenience of bicycling in the north academic campus area in the fall of 2013, this initiative will culminate in the development of a campus-wide, long-term approach to the expansion and management of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.
