La Jolla, CA, USA and Indianapolis, IN — March 27, 2014 —The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) has chosen MadCap software as one of its “Tools for Technical Communication” in a course designed to offer students the expertise needed to gain a competitive advantage in the workforce.

The school is using MadCap Flare—the modern, future-proof authoring and multi-channel publishing software that supports print, Web, desktop and mobile—to provide students with one of the most advanced authoring and publishing solutions available today. By using MadCap Flare, students are gaining experience in the modern techniques and software used by thousands of companies worldwide.

darkGreenQuote.pngWe’re excited to use MadCap Flare and give our students the opportunity to learn and use current software tools from the field," said Corinne Renguette, Ph.D., program director and assistant professor in Technical Communication at the school. "Using Flare will help them become familiar with the concepts of single-sourcing and topic-based authoring before they graduate, preparing them for careers in technical communication.”

The school offers both a bachelor of science degree in Technical Communication and a certificate in Technical Communication as part of its Leadership and Communication curriculum. Focusing on practical, real-world, industry-relevant learning experiences, the program will include MadCap Flare in its “Tools for Technical Communication” course.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology and help students develop their technical writing practices," said Anthony Olivier, MadCap founder and CEO. "This is another great opportunity to share the real-world insights of the global MadCap user community and empower students with skills that will give them a competitive edge when they join the workforce.”
