A "Green" Explosive Drilling Solution for the U.S. Army!

After trying a number of methods that didn't work, the Army used two
AutoDrill 2100 series machines to successfully demilitarize over 40,000
rounds of obsolescent tank shells from the Vietnam era. Many of the shells
were live and many of them had extremely hot tracer material fire during the
drilling process.

The drills were used to remove pyrotechnic tracer material from the base of
the projectile. The resulting inert material comprised several hundred tons
of aluminum and steel which were then recycled. The US Army and AutoDrill
are happy to say that this is the beginning of a very large reclamation and
recycling program. Hopefully, other branches of the military and private
sector companies will take advantage of this opportunity to remove dangerous
materials from the environment.

AutoDrill offers free application and design assistance for its customers
and free CAD drawings are available for all their equipment. They welcome
inquiries for stories from the press and would be glad to provide additional
information, etc.

Many of the manufacturers in the production drilling sector are shrinking or
even going out of business. AutoDrill has experienced record-breaking
growth for the past ten years and expects that they will continue to grow in
the future.
