WHO: Vincent Carrasco, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for RadarFind Corporation, will discuss how Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) will create a more responsive healthcare delivery process during the annual Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Conference and Expo being held June 6-8 in Baltimore, Maryland.
WHEN: Monday, June 8, 2009; 4 PM – 5:15 PM
WHERE: Baltimore Convention Center/ AAMI Education Sessions
One West Pratt Street
Baltimore, Maryland
TOPIC: Why Wireless Sensor Networks May Be Healthcare’s Salvation
Dr. Vincent Carrasco will outline for attendees how environmental, behavioral, and biologic data collected, analyzed, and presented via Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) will transform health care. He will also explain how integrating WSNs with existing hospital systems can reduce data entry and how emerging WSN applications -- including monitoring and automatic alerts for clinical refrigeration, infection control, and security -- are benefiting hospitals and improving patient safety.

He has participated in developing medical device and imaging technology, computerized planning tools, hospital software and IT infrastructure, and implementing new patient care delivery systems. In addition to conducting past education sessions for AAMI, Dr. Carrasco has presented at the Society for Health Systems annual conference and to several biomedical engineering associations in North Carolina and Virginia.
RadarFind Corporation will also present “Optimizing Productivity with RTLS: Bottom-Line Benefits for Biomeds” on Sunday June 7th at 5:30 p.m. in the AAMI Product Showcase and will be demonstrating the RadarFind RTLS system at Booth #822.
