A Rags to Riches Story: An Entreprenuer's Success Story in Singapore

Singapore - Mr. Nickson Cheng, the managing director of Lingua Tech Singapore has been nominated for the Entrepreneur of Year in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.

Seen as one of the most prestigious entrepreneur awards in Singapore, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award takes into account the company's market share and expansion into the global market. Among the other judging criteria, the candidate?s personal values and integrity, their approach to relationships, and community involvement will also be taken into consideration.

Mr. Cheng was nominated based on a newspaper article in The Business Times in 2007. Lingua Tech Singapore's interesting business model and provision of unique services and its outstanding performance despite having smaller staff strength are some factors contributing to the nomination of Mr. Cheng for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 award.

Mr. Cheng is also the first Singaporean and Asian to be invited as a keynote speaker for the EUATC conference held in Paris last year. His presentation on how European Translation Companies can work with Asian resources to expand their business was very well received by the delegates.
