Local aesthetic and reconstructive services provider now providing patients with Liposonix treatments that eliminate surgical risks and offer shorter recovery downtime

Raleigh, NC, United States of America, February 20, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) -Raleigh Plastic Surgery Center has announced that it has added Liposonix® System treatments to their comprehensive list of aesthetic and reconstruction services.  Patients can now take advantage of these treatments that provide a non-surgical, non-invasive alternative to fat reduction.
 
Typical fat reduction procedures, like liposuction, typically carry surgical risks and often carry significant post-treatment recovery downtime.  Liposonix is non-surgical and non-invasive and patients typically can resume their normal routine and activities immediately after their procedure.  Treatments are usually about an hour, and most patients visibly notice results after just one treatment.
 
The Liposonix System uses HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound energy) technology to non-invasively destroy targeted subcutaneous fat and deliver uniform and targeted results.  In other fat reduction technologies, energy is highly absorbed or scattered near the skin surface—limiting penetration and delivering temporary results.  HIFU technology allows energy to directly target fat tissue without harming skin or the surrounding tissues.    
 
During the one-hour procedure, the treatment head of the Liposonix system is placed on the area to be treated.  High-intensity ultrasound energy focuses on the targeted fat, destroying fat cells beneath the surface layers of the skin.  A continuous lesion is created in the targeted fat and the skin layer is not harmed.  The treated fat tissue is then removed through the body's natural healing and elimination process.
 
Raleigh Plastic Surgery Center’s Glenn Lyle, MD, says that Liposonix is ideal for anyone needing safe but effective help in losing those last few, stubborn inches that persist around the waistline.
