FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a license for the California Department of Water Resources to store excess soil on Reclamation property.
The renewed license authorizes DWR to continue storing excess soil on Reclamation property at the intersection of Old River, the Delta-Mendota Canal and Grant Line Canal near the Clifton Court Forebay in San Joaquin County.
DWR periodically produces excess soil as a result of various projects along nearby waterways, and has a need to store it for beneficial use at a later time. The license would allow DWR to place this material on Reclamation-owned land for a period of five years.
