BOISE, Idaho - Reclamation's Pacific Northwest Regional Director Lorri Lee announced today that Terry Kent has been selected as the new Deputy Regional Director for Power and Infrastructure Technical Services. He replaces Steven Jarsky who is now leading World Class Hydro efforts at Grand Coulee Dam.
In this new position, Kent will assist the Regional Director in carrying out Reclamation's responsibilities related to the operation and maintenance of water and power facilities, and related programs and activities in the Pacific Northwest.
"I am very pleased to announce the selection of Terry Kent as the next Deputy Regional Director for Power and Infrastructure," said Lee. "His level of experience, commitment, and knowledge about Reclamation and the Pacific Northwest is invaluable. I look forward to the great work he will do as a leader and problem-solver in our Region."
Kent, with more than 42 years of federal service, started his career in 1972 in Sacramento, California, as an Electrical Engineer for Reclamation. From 1977 to 1980, he worked in Redding, California, as a Supervisory Electrical Engineer. Kent has worked in the Pacific Northwest Regional Office since 1980 holding the positions of Supervisory Electrical Engineer, Supervisory General Engineer, and Regional Power Manager.
Kent received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in Electrical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer. Kent will begin his new assignment August 10, 2014.
