Annual Convention Held in Albany April 10th-13th, 2014.
Albany, NY, March 29, 2014 -(PressReleasePoint)- Greater NY/NJ Region #15, of Sweet Adelines International will hold its annual Regional Contest and Convention in Albany for the first time beginning Thursday, April 10th through Sunday, April 13, 2014. Choruses and quartets will travel to Albany to compete for the opportunity to represent Region 15 at the International Convention. This is the first time the recently expanded region will hold its convention in Albany after thirty years in Philadelphia.
Greater NY/NJ Region #15 includes over 900 women who sing in 23 choruses and 41 registered quartets within its regional borders which cover New Jersey, New York City, Long Island and parts of Upstate New York.
There will be a mass sing (including members of all Greater NY/NJ Region #15 choruses) held on the steps of the State Capital Building at 12 noon on Friday, April 11th. All are welcome to come and enjoy the sounds of a cappella, four part harmony in the barbershop style.
The quartet and chorus contests will be open to the public and held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. The Quartet Competition starts at 2pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 and the Chorus Competition begins at 12 noon on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Tickets will be on sale at the ticket office at Empire State Plaza Convention Center ticket booth just before each competition. For either the Quartet or Chorus competitions, tickets are $25.00 each ($10.00 each for students) and $20.00 each for Show of Champions which will be held at 8pm on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel.
