New York, New York, United States., February 15, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - Albany Records has released REMEMBRANZA – Remembrance of Latin Sounds (TROY1388), pianist Rosa Antonelli’s follow-up to her previous Albany release, ESPERANZA – Sounds of Hope.
 
Ms. Antonelli talks about the music, and the significance of the album title: “REMEMBRANZA – Remembrance of Latin Sounds – means for me the memory of my concert at Carnegie Hall, where I was presented by Albany Records in an entire evening of music by Latin American composers. I was so happy with how the audience loved this music; I felt as though our hearts all came together. With REMEMBRANZA, I hope listeners will find new happy memories of their own.”

About Rosa Antonelli
Argentinian pianist Rosa Antonelli enjoys an active and varied performance career. She is hailed as a leading exponent of Spanish and Latin American music, performing the works of Latin American composers, including Argentinian masters Piazzolla, Ugarte, Gianneo, Guastavino and others, to audiences all over the world.
 
Ms. Antonelli’s performance highlights include appearances at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room/ Frederick P. Rose Hall, and Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Ronald O. Perelman Stage, where she performed the world premiere of Astor Piazzolla’s Two Tangos. Ms. Antonelli has toured extensively in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and North America. After her initial tour of Europe in 1987, she was invited to perform in 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
 
Ms. Antonelli has been sponsored by government organizations such as The Office of the President, The Ministry of Culture, and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Germany, Egypt, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and other Latin American countries. In addition, she has been sponsored by cultural organizations that include the Chopin Society (Warsaw, Poland), Italo-IberoAmerican Institute (Rome, Italy), the Alex de Vries Foundation (Brussels, Belgium), the José Marti Cultural Center (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Athenaeum International Cultural Center (Athens, Greece), Collegium Musicum di Latina (Rome, Italy), Socrea Society (Milan, Italy), Conservatorio Statale di Musica Latina (Rome, Italy), Accademia Musicale San Pietro a Majella and Institute Francais (Naples, Italy), Municipal Cultural Center of Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Center for Graduate Professors of the National Conservatory of Music, Carlos López Buchardo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and the National Cultural Center (Cairo, Egypt).
 
In addition to performing at the Aspen Music Festival, Ms. Antonelli has participated in a master class with Alfonso Montecino, a student of Claudio Arrau, and at the International Piano Seminar in Pro Arte, Rio de Janeiro, with Daisy de Luca, a disciple of Madga Tagliaferro, where she was awarded first prize as best performer. A pupil of Roberto Caamaño, Ms. Antonelli has studied also with Rosalyn Tureck, Rafael Puyana, Franco Medori, Lory Wallfisch, Manuel Carra, and Alexis Golovine, in addition to other notable professors. In 1986 Ms. Antonelli received a scholarship from the Government of Spain to participate in the International University Music Program in Santiago de Compostela, where she received The Rosa Sabater Award for her interpretation of Spanish music. She also earned a Master’s Degree of Superior Professor of Music with Honors from the National Conservatory “Carlos López Buchardo” in Buenos Aires. In addition to presenting lectures and seminars on piano technique and interpretation in various European and Latin American countries, Ms. Antonelli was invited to join the faculty of the Piano Department of Adelphi University when she came to the U.S. in 1999. She has been a U.S. citizen since 2006.
 
Ms. Antonelli’s concerts have been broadcast on television and radio stations internationally. Her discography includes: Piano; Live in Milano at the Palazzo Visconti; Beethoven – Debussy – Ravel; Romantics Forever; and, on the Albany Records label, ESPERANZA – Sounds of Hope. Ms. Antonelli’s musicianship has earned critical praise from Fanfare Magazine: “This is playing from the heart… A richly rewarding recital that conveys new depths with each hearing…” American Record Guide recognized “...the soulful pianism of Rosa Antonelli…a luscious recording…a special seductiveness and sophistication.” Harris Goldsmith, in New York Concert Review, wrote about the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall concert: “Ms. Antonelli’s inward poetry forced me to rehear, and revalue, Piazzolla’s Tangos, which she infused with an eloquence and inner communication…”
