Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT), today announced the Top Ten movies of 2009 in North America based on consumer spending from each key movie distribution platform including theatrical box office, home video sell-through, home video rental and transactional video-on-demand (VOD).

Cross-platform insights include:

• Five of the Top Ten theatrical box office movies of 2009 (North America) are also included in the Top Ten selling DVDs of 2009 chart
• Five movies ranked among the Top Ten selling home video titles were also top performers on the Top Ten theatrical box office list
• Eight of the Top Ten VOD movies were day-and-date releases
• Eight of the Top Ten VOD movies were PG-13

All Rentrak Top Ten ranking charts are based on gross revenue generated during the 2009 calendar year.
