AXSEM announces that its engineers achieved 0 dBm output power with record-low current consumption of 8 mA at 1.8 V or 5 mA1 at 3.6 V supply voltage in the 868 to 926 MHz range for its AX8052F143 RF-microcontroller. In the 169 MHz range the current consumption is even 2 mA lower. The normal matching network is designed to deliver 18 dBm with 52 mA at 1.8 V.

Dübendorf, Switzerland, March 21, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) - AXSEM today announces that its engineers achieved 0 dBm output power with record-low current consumption of 8 mA at 1.8 V or 5 mA1 at 3.6 V supply voltage in the 868 to 926 MHz range for its AX8052F143 RF-microcontroller. In the 169 MHz range the current consumption is even 2 mA lower. The normal matching network is designed to deliver 18 dBm with 52 mA at 1.8 V.

The receiver performance remains pristine with the newly developed network. The 9.5 mA at 1.8 V or 7 mA1 at 3.6 V receiver has a sensitivity of down to -133 dBm. The AX8052F143 RF-microcontroller supports worldwide frequency bands from 70 to 1050 MHz. The device features an adjustable choice of data rates from 100 bps to 115.2 kbps.

The 64 kByte of Flash memory and 8.25 kByte RAM provide enough space for complex communication stacks e.g. with mesh-architectures. Multiple functionalities such as 10-bit analog-to-digital converter, temperature sensor, internal supply voltage measurement, dual comparators, five 16-bit timers as well as two UARTs and SPI can be selected. The programming and debugging interface of AXSEM MCUs features quick and secure access to the memory as well as unlimited break-points.

To guarantee the ease of use, AXSEM offers advanced development tools. AX-RadioLab is a full-application generator which creates a fully functional code skeleton as a starting point for your application developments.  In conjunction with AXCode::Blocks, the free and feature-rich GUI, application programming has never been easier.

The IC is the ideal choice for home automation, automatic meter reading, sensor networks and the internet-of-things.
