Rimon Expands its Intellectual Property Practice with the Addition of IP Expert Bruce D. Abramson, J.D, Ph.D. in San Francisco

Rimon, P.C., an international corporate law firm, announced today that internationally recognized intellectual property law expert Bruce D. Abramson is joining the firm as a partner and will be heading Rimon’s newly formed Intellectual Property Advisory Services Group.

Abramson is joining the firm as a partner and will be heading Rimon’s newly formed Intellectual Property Advisory Services Group.

Dr. Abramson, a legal technology expert who holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in computer science from Columbia University, as well as a law degree from Georgetown University, has particular expertise in the areas of patents, copyrights, trade secrets, antitrust, technology licensing, corporate strategy, and the valuation of tangible and intangible assets. He regularly advises clients about the valuation and deployment of intellectual property, and about the design of incentive systems most likely to motivate innovation. He has applied these analyses to help his diverse client base resolve business-critical disputes, to develop business plans, and to reconfigure their IP portfolios. He has counseled major technology corporations, startups, universities, international organizations and foreign governments in the areas of his expertise. Dr. Abramson’s past clients have included The World Bank, the governments of Greece and of India, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Procter & Gamble, HotJobs, AOL, RealNetworks, Bandag, Pitney Bowes, IBM, Northrop, Duke Energy, and Neopost.

Bruce brings to Rimon a solo practice that he developed through his firms, Informationism, Inc. and Gordian Solutions, Inc. His earlier appointments included stints as a Principal with Charles River Associates, an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California, a law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and a research scientist/director with two small defense contractors.

Bruce has also published five books, more than 30 scholarly articles and is widely quoted as an authoritative expert in the media with regard to his areas of expertise. In addition, he has frequently testified as an expert witness in complex technology and valuation cases.
