BAND TO PREVIEW US EP AT LA’S WORLD-FAMOUS WHISKY A GO-GO AT EXCLUSIVE MUSIC INDUSTRY MUSEXPO CONFAB ON APRIL 27

New Zealand’s certified platinum five-piece Midnight Youth (http://www.myspace.com/midnightyouth), are set to release their US debut EP “When The Calvary Comes” on May 17, 2010 the same day as their single “Golden Love” is featured for 2.5 minutes on the series finale of the long-running CW Network show “One Tree Hill.” The EP is supported through a massive Myspace marketing campaign that features the band on Myspace’s home page plus targeted banner advertising and social media as well as a fan contest in collaboration with website “The Public Record”

Says One Tree Hill’s Music Supervisor Lindsay Wolfington, "Midnight Youth's song "Golden Love" was a great fit for the season finale of One Tree Hill. Its sentiment worked perfectly to underscore the characters' relationships and set up the emotion of the episode."

Midnight Youth will kick off their US release on April 27 with an exclusive industry showcase during Musexpo at LA’s famed “Whisky A Go-Go” nightclub, following in the footsteps of rockers such as Guns N’ Roses and The Doors.
Midnight Youth Manager Matt Coleman says, “since seeing the band several years ago as a support act for INXS, their music has taken the local industry by storm – with 8 NZ music nominations and a series of well written songs that received full support from the media especially from radio and music television. I’m excited the band has the opportunity to reach new fans around the world with the single “Golden Love” so prominently featured on the finale of One Tree Hill.” In addition Midnight Youth are holding a contest through the website The Public Record (http://thepublicrecord.com) that lets fans download, play along with and remix two tracks from the EP (“Calvary” and “Benjamin”) with the winning version (picked by Midnight Youth) used on a special online/CD release. The Public Record, founded by top rock producer Scott Humphrey, who’s credits include Rob Zombie, Motley Crue, Metallica and Crystal Method, let’s fans collaborate online with top music acts, including Deadmau5, Tommy Lee and Shooter Jennings.

The Auckland-based rockers (Jeremy Redmore – Vocals, Simon Oscroft – guitar, Nick Campbell – Keyboards/guitar, Aidan Bartlett – drums, Matt Warman – Bass) joined forces in 2006 – quickly rose to the top of the local charts with #1s such as “The Letter” and “All On Our Own,” and saw their Platinum Album “The Brave Don’t Run” debut at #1 on iTunes. After Midnight Youth’s successful 2009 showcase tour of the USA (LA/SXSW/NY), the band toured extensively in Australia and New Zealand, regularly playing to sold-out crowds at festivals such as Big Day Out, Sounds of Spring, One Movement and Rhythm and Vines.
