Rome Agencies Host President Of Liberia For Event On Global Development Agenda

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP) invite journalists to attend a news conference to mark a special event organised by the Rome-based agencies in honour of Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia.

President Johnson Sirleaf, a Nobel prize-winner and Africa’s first female head of state, will share her vision as Co-Chair of the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda. She will make a key-note speech and take part in a panel discussion.

Other speakers will include WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin; Italy’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Lapo Pistelli; Deputy Director General, Coordinator Natural Resources, FAO, Maria Helena Semedo; Adolfo Brizzi, acting Associate Vice-President, IFAD.
