July 10, 2014 — Rouge Valley Health System's Living Well marketing campaign promoting the launch of the hospital's new chronic disease education clinics has won a 2014 APEX Award for Publication Excellence.
The international competition for writers, editors, publications staff and communicators evaluated more than 2,000 entries. This year's APEX awards have been presented to public and private sector organizations from the United States, Australia, South Africa, Sudan, India, Singapore and Canada recognizing outstanding achievements in graphic design, editorial content, overall communications and marketing. Corporations such as Ford, Disney, Merrill Lynch, plus banks, insurance companies, hospitals, school boards, municipalities and universities are among this year's winners.
Rouge Valley's 2014 APEX Award was won in the Marketing & Public Relations, Programs & Plans category by: Nicholas Smith, coordinator, corporate communications; Tracy Bromell, registered practical nurse, surgical program; and Amber Curry, surgical manager. Together, they planned, developed and implemented the Living Well campaign. The marketing and communications campaign was put into action last year in: brochures; posters; the hospital's website; news releases; print and radio advertising; physician engagement; as well as in community outreach events. The plan and actions established initial patient referrals by informing the community about the valuable ongoing wellness program.
"A great community wellness education program deserves a great communications and marketing plan. Our Rouge Valley team married the two to the community's benefit," says David Brazeau, director, public affairs, community relations and telecommunications. "Congratulations to our team on their terrific work." Learn more about Living Well at www.rougevalley.ca/livingwell.
