Ruckus Wireless and UCOPIA Communications partnersfor Wi-Fi network projects

Paris, 18 November 2008– Ruckus Wireless, a supplier of systems that provide reliable distribution of multimedia content and services over wireless networks, has announced a new partnership with UCOPIA Communications, a French provider of security and mobility management solutions for professional users on fixed and wireless internal networks, to introduce Ruckus Wireless Smart Wi-Fi systems.

Ruckus Wireless designs, develops and markets Smart Wireless LAN systems that provide reliable and adaptive distribution of delay-sensitive multimedia content and services over standard 802.11a/b/g/n technology. The company uses its patented hardware and software technologies to deliver predictable performance, extended range and real-time adaptability to changing Wi-Fi environments.

There are many advantages to using RUCKUS products: The advanced functionality for managing Wi-Fi coverage, allowing to implement fewer access points, as well as the easy installation make possible by ZoneFlex Smart Mesh (which obviates the need to run wiring to all access points). The ease of management delivered by the graphic interfaces of the Ruckus solution, which allows even non-experts to manage the network easily, fits perfectly with the type of customers targeted by UCOPIA, which are mainly companies that don't have dedicated IT staff.

UCOPIA provides its customers (companies, hotels, educational establishments, hospitals and public services) with solutions offering a secure network connection. UCOPIA allows them to use professional, Internet and telephone applications in a simple and secure way. The solutions provided by UCOPIA answer the requirements of “anti-terrorism” laws (governed by the decree of 24 March 2006 in European Directive 2006-24-CE).

UCOPIA and Ruckus Wireless have joined forces as part of UCOPIA’s Alliance Program, which forges partnerships between vendors in the market for deploying wireless networks.
