Rushforth Wins AWB 2010 Community Service Award (05/12/10)

Rushforth Construction has won a 2010 Community Service Award from the Association of Washington Business (AWB). The awards were presented to 21 companies on May 11 in Spokane.

Tacoma, Washington—May 12, 2010—

The AWB’s annual awards recognize member companies for projects that support education, youth organizations, volunteerism, community beautification, community organizations that help people in need, and programs that mobilize people.

Rushforth was recognized for its “continuous commitment to helping people in need.” Each year Rushforth supports many national charitable organizations, including the American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and Salvation Army, and employees regularly organize food drives, blood drives, and shoe drives on behalf of local community organizations. The focus of Rushforth’s charitable giving is its annual charitable golf tournament, which the company has sponsored every year since 1988 for employees, clients and business partners. In 2009 the golf tournament raised more than $40,000 for the Salvation Army, Tacoma Goodwill Industries, the Tacoma-Pierce County YMCA, and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
