Ryan Kannett Offers Entrepreneurial Grant to Fund New Business Ventures for College Graduates
Ryan Michael Kannett, a retired real estate broker, is the founder of the Ryan M. Kannett Entrepreneurial Scholarship Grant. This grant works to provide exiting college students with funding toward a new business venture.
The Ryan M. Kannett Entrepreneurial Scholarship Grant recipients have been announced for 2010. To date more than 24 exiting college students have received money through this grant in order to fund a new business venture within their community. As an additional way of giving back to his community, Ryan Kannett has also provided grants to existing business operations with plans for expansion.
The Ryan M. Kannett Entrepreneurial Scholarship Grant is a yearly award that is given to the best business ideas submitted by applicants to assist with the cost of business development. Students, entrepreneurs and established business owners are welcome to apply for the grant by sending an essay describing the business idea and need for the funds to the Ryan Kannett Scholarship Grant Committee.
"Giving back to the community is something that is highly important to me. I want to help new businesses get their start to find the success that I did through entrepreneurship. It is so rewarding to watch the many recipients that have benefited from this program and how their businesses have developed over time," said Ryan Kannett, Founder of the Ryan M. Kannett Entrepreneurial Scholarship Grant.
A grant is offered in denominations of $500, $1000, $2500 or $5000 depending on the need. Ryan Michael Kannett contributes directly to the grant program as well by matching 100% of the money that comes in through fundraising efforts. Kannett has made it his personal goal to help the next generation of business owners through this scholarship grant, which is dedicated to his mother who died when he was a child.
"Early in my career, I did not have family or friends that could help support me. The only way that I made it through college was through a scholarship that I received. While many scholarships exist for those entering college to pay for expenses, very few programs exists to bridge the gap to help them start their own business. My goal is support entrepreneurship for newly graduated college students," concludes Kannett.
