Sage North America: One of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2010

Sage North America today announced it was named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2010.

The awards program was created in 2006, and is a project of TEXAS MONTHLY magazine, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM), and Best Companies Group.

Sage North America helps nearly 3.1 million small and mid-sized businesses and nonprofits in the U.S. and Canada increase efficiency and more easily manage their operations. The company’s Nonprofit Solutions business, which serves nonprofit and governmental organizations with its Sage Fundraising and Sage MIP Fund Accounting software, is headquartered in Austin, Texas. More than 100 employees work on that campus.

The longest tenured employee on Sage’s Austin campus, Mark Hagerty—a principal software engineer for Sage MIP Fund Accounting—joined the company in August 1992. Sage was recognized as one of only 85 companies in the state to be included in the statewide Best Companies to Work for in Texas survey and awards program, which was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Texas.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics; the second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

Sage North America was recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards ceremony at the 2010 TAB Annual Conference earlier this week.
