SAP AG Establishes $350 Million SAP VENTURES FUND I, L.P.

SAP NEWSBYTE - January 20, 2011 -SAP AG(NYSE: SAP) today announced the launch of SAP VENTURES FUND I, L.P. to invest in promising, innovative software and software-enabled service companies globally.

SAP Ventures started its work in 1997 and has funded and helped build more than 100 companies globally. SAP VENTURES’ goals are to create financial returns and facilitate interaction between innovative companies, SAP AG and the SAP AG ecosystem.

"The new fund structure reaffirms SAP’s long-term commitment to its corporate venture activities and helps optimize and simplify decision-making and operations," said member of the SAP Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer Werner Brandt. "Through its investments and contacts in the entrepreneur community, SAP Ventures has always exposed SAP to new and emerging trends like cloud computing, enterprise collaboration and open source technologies. As a natural evolution, this new structure and capital commitment will allow SAP Ventures to be even more nimble and competitive."

The fund is run by the SAP Ventures investment team, headed by Nino Marakovic. SAP AG is the sole limited partner in the fund and contributed the existing SAP Ventures portfolio of investments to the fund.
