SeaChange Systems at Sakshi TV Enable One of India’s First HD Channels to Deploy End-to-End Avid DNxHD Workflow

March 24, 2009- ACTON, Mass. - SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading global supplier of high-definition and standard-definition broadcast playout and workflow solutions, announced today that its digital video system is putting South Asia’s first completeAvid DNxHDbroadcast operation on air atSakshi TV.  The all-news broadcaster is using SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient play-to-air platform to support its end-to-end Avid DNxHD workflow, joining a rapidly growing roster of Indian TV operators who have deployed SeaChange systems.

SeaChange’s native support of the Avid DNxHD high-definition production codec format has helped Sakshi TV become one of the first news operations in the world to build its entire workflow - from acquisition to playout - on the HD format.  Sakshi’s SeaChange platform, which includes the flexible MCL software-based codec with DNxHD support, allows the broadcaster to frame-accurately ingest and natively play back HD content in the DNxHD format.  The BML/MCL system is working in conjunction with Marquis Broadcast’s Medway media transfer and format conversion software, facilitating the movement of video files between Avid News Cutter and Media Composer editing workstations and the BML play-to-air server.

Systems specification and integration for Sakshi TV’s end-to-end HD news channel was completed byMediaGuru Consultants, an independent media consultant in India.
