New features make creating branches and searching in files more effective and efficient
CINCINNATI—March 18, 2014 — Seapine Software today unveiled Surround 2014, the latest version of its software configuration management solution. Surround SCM 2014’s newest features—Sparse Branching and Find in Files—make creating branches and searching inside a file more effective and efficient.
“Surround SCM’s new sparse branching capabilities give users greater control over their branching process,” said Rick Riccetti, President and CEO, Seapine Software. “Instead of including everything in a repository, users can create branches from unrelated sets of repositories, folders, and files—which allows them to focus on the specific files they need to access.”
With Find in Files, users can search inside files—including source codes, HTML files, and design documents—for a specific word or text string. This highly requested new feature eliminates the need for users to manually search each individual file for the content they need. Now, they can search tens of thousands of files with a single search term.
Surround SCM 2014 also includes enhanced code review functionality and command line interface, among other updates.
