Matthew Hobden took two wickets for the Second Eleven on Day One of their game against Kent

Sussex’s Second Eleven spent a long day in the field yesterday at Preston Nomads CC on Day One of their Second Eleven Championship match with neighbours Kent.

After the visitors had won the toss and asked to bat, they racked up 415 for 5 as opening batsmen; Sam Northeast (120) and Chris Piesley (117), lead the way.

There were wickets for Matthew Hobden (2 for 74), Ashar Zaidi (1 for 69), Will Beer (1 for 50) and Harry Finch (1 for 4).
