Will Beer took 4 for 17 as the MCC Universities were bowled out for 236
The Sussex Second Eleven bowled out MCC Universities for 236 on Day One of their Second Eleven Championship match at The Parks, Oxford.
After the MCC had won the toss and elected to bat, it looked at one stage as though they might be on for a bigger total but the bowling of skipper Will Beer (4 for 17) pegged back the lower-order. Chris Liddle (3 for 39) had done the earlier damage and there was also a wicket apiece for Tim Moses, Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Harry Finch.
Sussex reached 74 for 1 in reply from 15 overs before the close as Matt Machan (39 not out) and Callum Jackson (19 not out) were the not out batsmen. Finch was the man to lose his wicket for 8.
