WASHINGTON, DC - Saying the team wants to be a “positive example” to its community, pro football’s Kansas City Chiefs have installed 308 solar panels as part of a sustainability partnership with local utility, Kansas City Power & Light. Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), applauded the venture:

“Today, Chiefs’ fans have yet another reason to be proud of their team and Arrowhead Stadium. Solar energy can help to significantly reduce pollution – as well as to decrease electricity costs – making this important upgrade a win-win for an iconic NFL franchise and the entire Kansas City area. We applaud the Chiefs for joining the millions of Americans across the nation who support solar as a clean, affordable and reliable source of energy.”
