UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's College of Engineering will host an Intellectual Property Seminar from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on March 31, in the Boardroom of the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow.
Anthony Atchley, associate dean for research and administration, and Amr Elnashai, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering, will give opening remarks.
Don Mothersbaugh, senior technical specialist at Penn State’s Office of Technology Management, will discuss "What's New in IP Resources at Penn State."
A panel discussion, moderated by Tim Simpson, professor of mechanical and industrial engineering, will focus on “IP and the Engineering Entrepreneur.” Panelists include the following successful alumni entrepreneurs: nuclear engineering alumnus Steve Dansky, partner, Winning Touch Tennis; mechanical engineering alumnus Jeremy Frank, president, KCF Technologies; mechanical engineering alumnus David Janisch, CEO, American Laser Healthcare Corporation; mechanical engineering alumnus Eric Sauder, co-founder, New Leaf Initiative; and Joseph Rose, Philip Morrow Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics.
Civil engineering alumnus Joshua Kollat, owner and co-founder of DecisionVis, will share a case study in start-up success.
