Birmingham based Servango facilitates £20,000 of local commerce in four weeks, helping boost the West Midlands and Warwickshire economy.

Birmingham, England, UK, March 11, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - Following a January release to the Apple App Store, Servango has featured in the App Store What's New and What's Hot lifestyle sections and has been featured on BBC Radio. In the first month post release Servango helped facilitate pound;20,000 of local commerce helping boost the West Midlands and Warwickshire economy.

So what exactly does Servango do?

Servango allows the user to list what they need, or need done so that people with the right skills, talents or goods in the local community can find them and help. Equally if users have skills, talents or goods to offer they can list them in the offered section and when people need their help they can find the right person from their smartphone. The listings centre around the users location or a specified location allowing the user to find a great local option.

"Our goal is helping people to answer two distinct questions, What do you need? and What can you do?" says Oliver West, Co-Founder, "we wanted to provide a vehicle through which anyone can simply state what it is they need or can do, and allow the local community to respond. We also wanted a vehicle through which people could easily see what is needed or being offered around them and respond accordingly - providing opportunities within both questions."

The app itself is crisp, clean and creative, it has an exceptional user interface and has been designed by Servango's technical partner, the critically acclaimed OneResult. At the helm of OneResult is CEO Dave Carruthers, Mobile Entrepreneur of the Year 2012,

'Servango has been an exciting project for everyone at OneResult. We're all confident that Servango will really help streamline the way we do business, and the fact that it will impact society in a positive way makes it all that much more relevant.'

Servango, like its competitors in the UK, Task Panda, Sorted and Sooqini, is a community focused task application.'So what makes Servango different?'We believe that by providing both Needed and Offered streams, as well as categories that step outside the day to day task arena, categories such as; advice, volunteering, work experience, and show me how, we go the extra mile in making Servango effective in facilitating local commerce and boosting the economy, said Co-Founder McAloon.

As you may have gathered as well as a quality interface and a sustainable foundation Servango has assembled a hard hitting team who have a proven track record in delivery. A team which also includes Sustainability Director, Jamie Dunn of 'The A Fund' and co-author of 'Crack On' a nationally known youth campaigner and a successful entrepreneur has championed the inclusion of a volunteering and work experience category within Servango along with promoting the application's relevance to youth communities up and down the country.

"Volunteering and work experience are vitally important for young adults, with a faltering economy and the upcoming abolition of mandatory work experience in schools the youth skill deficit could be doomed to increase. Servango will help to ensure that the leaders of tomorrow are given a platform to a successful career and one that works very closely with the education system," said Dunn.
