Shared Office Enquiries Double in First Half of 2011
Leading desk space website Office Genie has seen a massive rise in demand for desks in shared offices, with average monthly enquiries for desks so far this year doubling compared to the second half of 2010.
United Kingdon, 29 June 2011 (PressReleasePoint)-- The phenomenon of renting part of an office has been growing strongly for several years, fuelled by a steady growth in small businesses coupled with a large amount of downsizing in larger firms.
Director Ciaron Dunne said: “The recession has rumbled on. But at the same time remote and home working have become ever more popular thanks to improvements to online working and the growing acceptance of flexible working practices. Renting office space is now more relevant than ever.
“Office Genie was set up to help offices with spare desks make money from the wasted space, while giving small businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs the opportunity to rent a small area for a price they could afford and with the amenities they needed.
“Desk renters like to get out of the home and into an office for all kinds of reasons. These range from practical ones, such as use of a meeting room, to simply wanting to get out of the house, or meeting new people in a creative environment.”
