SharePoint Discussion Column, a useful discussion record tool
SharePoint Discussion Column is a custom column to record users’ discussions.
SharePoint Discussion Column is a custom SharePoint column to record opinions of different users. Discussion records in a SharePoint item can be listed in chronological order with discussion contents and names of users.
SharePoint Discussion Column is especially designed to record discussions in SharePoint environment. “With SharePoint Discussion Column, users in a group can add comments on certain topics. Everyone who has permission could view and add comments on the topic. The comment is saved in chronological order independently, and the latter comment does not replace the former one. Because of this, users need not create version each time editing an item in the list when users want to select the ‘Append Changes to Existing Text’ option of Rich text column”, said Henry Zhang, the CTO of Brandysoft.
Even though SharePoint out-of-box multiple lines of text column provides an option “Append Changes to Existing Text” to let users append their own comments and discussion without replacing others. However, the users have to enable version creation when edit item for one thing; for another, a new record will be produced in the record history of the column as long as users edit item, which makes the user view many empty records.
SharePoint Discussion Column greatly enhances the discussion function and the users avoid tedious work to view amount history records.
