SHKP’s Hong Yip wins Excellence in Practice awardfrom the American Society for Training and Development

Sun Hung Kai Properties subsidiary the Hong Yip Service Company recently received a Workplace Learning and Development Excellence in Practice award from the American Society for Training and Development for its innovative horticultural training programme. The award reflects the international standard Hong Yip has achieved with horticulture and associated training.

The Society has members from over 100 countries and has long been recognized as a world leader in promoting workplace learning and performance. Its annual Excellence in Practice awards are presented to organizations that excel in training and development. Hong Yip’s horticultural training programme beat nearly 180 contenders from around the world to win the Excellence in Practice Award in Workplace Learning and Development, and made Hong Yip the only winner from Hong Kong.

Hong Yip believes in the importance of professional training and development for its employees and incorporates environmental elements into everyday property management. It provides classroom training in horticulture and lessons in practical application, and has compiled its first property landscaping handbook as an additional learning tool. There is also tailored training for executives and gardening staff. Hong Yip expanded its horticultural management courses to all the estates it administers in two years, setting a new standard of quality in Hong Kong property management.
