New York, November 26, 2008 – As the holidays roll around, too many people are still struggling in the wake of the serious economic downturn. To assist those individuals who are in less fortunate circumstances, Shleppers (http://www.shleppers.com) is taking action and becoming involved in two important charities that do wonderful work for New York.

Because an important part of Christmas for children is the presents, Shleppers is actively involved in Operation Santa Clause which is being hosted by Community Mayors, Inc. This notable organization works with more than 50,000 children who have special needs annually. As part of their involvement, Shleppers will transport thousands of toys generously donated by Macy’s to JFK airport where they will help distribute the toys among 3,000 to 5,000 children who may have no gifts to open otherwise this holiday season. This special event will take place on December 10th.

Shleppers is doing even more for the children of New York this holiday. Beginning the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Catholic Charities will be hosting a toy drive at 20 different locations. Customers at these locations will donate toys. Shleppers will collect the toys from these banks and will deliver them to churches around the area so they can be distributed to children in need of a happy Christmas
