BRENTWOOD, TN, March 24, 2010 – Business Resource Solutions (BRS), a value added reseller south of Nashville, formed a strategic partnership with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) library experts ST LogiTrack this past fall. ST LogiTrack is well known for their library successes overseas, however this would be their first implementation in America. Thus the companies agreed to form an alliance to deliver a full RFID solution to the four library branches that make up the Linebaugh Public Library System (LPLS) in Rutherford County, TN.

BRS representative Laura Corder explains “the Linebaugh Library opportunity was presented to us this past July as a result of a phone call, shortly after we discovered ST LogiTrack from Twitter”. After in depth research on ST LogiTrack’s patented RFID system called the Electronic Library Management System (ELiMS®), BRS representatives were confident that ST LogiTrack would provide the best turn-key solution for the Linebaugh Library. In fact, ST LogiTrack has had great success with their ELiMS® software throughout Asia, the U.K, Australia, and parts of the Middle East and was awaiting an opportunity to establish their presence in the Unites States. With that said, ST LogiTrack selected BRS as their exclusive reseller for their ELiMS® RFID system in the Unites States.

After LPLS received their grant from the Christy-Houston Foundation in late November, they purchased a customized RFID system from BRS in January. Their system includes: eight self-check stations, ten staff stations (a total of 11 stations with the combined ELiMS® Counter Station and ELiMS® Self-Check software), security gates, and one administration station to disperse between the Smyrna and Linebaugh branches. The self-check stations will effectively assist patrons as they borrow and return their library items. Unlike the self-check, the staff stations will have enhanced capabilities for more efficient library item management such as tracking and sorting. Once installed, the ELiMS® will increase efficiency in the library and enable staff to spend more time interacting with patrons.

BRS President Paul Reed confirms “the RFID implementation began this month and while the libraries are continuing the RFID tagging process, ST LogiTrack representatives will arrive from Singapore to manage the installation of security gates, launch all stations and host ELiMS® training courses”. The four branches of the LPLS have roughly 310,000 items making the libraries’ expected completion date around September 2010. Corder adds that “the BRS staff has been hard at work to ensure that the implementation goes smoothly so we can meet our September goal”.
