Six Finalists in "PEN Your Story Challenge" Win $5,000 and Olympus PEN E-PL1 Camera

Finalists Will Use Camera and Funds to Bring Creative Proposals to Life and Compete for Grand Prize

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., June 23, 2010 –Olympus is proud to announce the six finalists chosen by the YouTube community and a panel of Olympus judges in the Olympus PEN your story challenge. These individuals submitted videos to the Olympus YouTube website, showing what they would do with the powerfully simple new Olympus PEN® E-PL1 portable camera featuring professional digital single lens reflex (DSLR) image quality, point-and-shoot simplicity and high-definition (HD) video, and $5,000 to bring their creative vision to life.

Out of hundreds of people who entered, the following creative video proposals have been chosen as the six finalists:

This week, the finalists will receive the E-PL1 and $5,000 to start working on their final submissions. By August 2, they will upload their final creations shot with the PEN to YouTube to show the world what they did, and one lucky Grand Prize winner will be selected based on a combination of popular vote and the panel of Olympus judges. The Grand Prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip for two to New York City to attend the Olympus-sponsored US Open Tennis Championships. Then, for the ultimate recognition, the winner’s work will be displayed on the giant video board in the famed Arthur Ashe Stadium before an audience of thousands.
