Skycam® is a broadcast-quality robotic camera which is suspended from a cable-driven computerized transport system. It can fly anywhere in a defined three-dimensional space. Skycam has been used for sporting events such as the Summer Olympic Games, U.S. Open Tennis Tournament, the NCAA's Final Four, ESPN's Sunday Night Football and the Pro Bowl. The Skycam is comprised of three main components: the broadcast camera, the cable suspension system, and the computerized transport system. Originally developed by CF Inflight, Skycam was acquired by Winnercomm, Inc. in 2004.

LynxOS

LynxOS® operates in Skycam's transport system and assures smooth camera movement. Consistent and deterministic response at up to 30 miles per hour is required. LynxOS was also chosen for its Linux compatibility, so that Linux application code from earlier versions of Skycam could continue to be used, with only minimal changes.
