SkyCross Develops MIMO Antenna Solutions for Popular Tablet Computer Form Factor
SkyCross Demonstrates 4G LTE High-Speed Connectivity with the T-Series Line of Antennas for Tablet Computers at 2011 International CES
LAS VEGAS, BASKING RIDGE, N.J., and VIERA, Fla.—From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES),SkyCross, a global designer and manufacturer of antenna solutions, announced that it has developed antenna technology specifically suited for the tablet segment. Combining the features of antennas from both notebook computers and mobile smartphones, the SkyCross T-Series line of high-performance antennas for tablet computer products provides high efficiency, small size and multi-band performance for MIMO 3G/4G mobile broadband access and 802.11n Wi-Fi. The T-Series antenna solution, incorporated into a 10.1-inch tablet platform from Acer and taking advantage of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, is being demonstrated in the Verizon Wireless booth at 2011 International CES.
Wireless devices are evolving very rapidly as consumer demand and mobile broadband networks converge. SkyCross is building on its 10 years of industry leadership to enable the successful growth of 4G through innovativeantenna solutionsand business partnerships with OEMs and network operators. The T-Series line of antennas is one example of that leadership, which includes an extensive product roadmap and aportfolioof patented antennadesignsand techniques for the mobile device, notebook, access point and consumer device markets.
We are very gratified that Verizon Wireless recognized SkyCross leadership in LTE antenna design and invited us to help enable devices on its LTE network, said Charles A. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless 3G network. Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the companys entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.
The SkyCross-Verizon Wireless collaboration was fostered at the Verizon Wireless LTE Innovation Center. The LTE Innovation Center, established in 2008, provides an environment for diverse companies to work together to develop innovative products that leverage 4G LTE technology.
